Hubble Space Telescope
A telescope above the atmosphere that changed how we see distant galaxies and the evolving universe.
Hubble observes in ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared light. Its sharp images and spectra have contributed to studies of expanding space, galaxy evolution, exoplanet atmospheres and the formation of stars. Astronaut servicing missions repaired and upgraded its instruments. Current observing status is available from the mission team; this page describes its scientific legacy.
